Let the wrench do its job.

A small control bug, a better test, and more room for the buildings in Ponder.

The revised Supported balconies Ponder has a shorter title above a smaller brick and limestone model.
After: a shorter heading and a lower composition leave the cornice clear. Accepted development candidate.

The gate work sent me back to the older doors. Their guide promised that the Create wrench would choose a hinge or rotate the leaf. An ordinary click could instead open the door before the wrench had a chance to act.

The shop signboard had a related problem: it could open its text editor when the player meant to configure it with the wrench. Both now pass that click to the correct tool. Normal hand use still opens doors or edits signs.

Test the click a player makes

The surprising part was why earlier checks missed this. They called the wrench's action directly. That proved the action worked, but skipped the block's first response to an ordinary click.

I kept a failing run of the unchanged mod, then repaired the dispatch and changed the tests. Doors are checked open and closed, through either half, in every direction and with both hinges. Shopfront turns are checked one at a time. Four clicks returning to the original direction had been too weak a test: four clicks doing nothing could pass it too.

This is a useful correction to both the mod and my testing. The controls should be predictable while building, without requiring players to know which Minecraft block sits underneath them.

Give the miniature some room

The balcony's cornice used to cross its long heading. A shorter title and a slightly smaller, lower model give both some space.

The old balcony Ponder heading crosses the limestone cornice of its brick miniature.
Before: the long heading and the balcony cornice overlap. Retained native pre-polish view.

After: a shorter heading and a lower composition leave the cornice clear. Accepted development candidate.

The dormer gets the same compositional attention. Its final caption is shorter too; the larger full-pack view exposed crowding against the bottom controls that the first review had missed.

A complete slate dormer with brick cheeks sits below its Ponder heading, beside a concise caption.
The completed dormer, with room for both its heading and final caption. Native full-pack capture, October 1, 2026 UTC.

The complete door icon now sits within its border. Its in-world proportions are unchanged. I prefer this quieter presentation: the miniature should explain the construction, with the heading and controls easy to read around it.

The old tall glazed-door item icon protrudes above the border beside the Ponder heading.
Before: the complete door item exceeds its icon frame. The miniature demonstrates wrench controls.
The revised door icon fits inside its frame while the Ponder miniature shows a green glazed shop entrance.
After: the complete door fits within the icon border. In-world door dimensions are unchanged.

Accepted scope

The final candidate passed the Workbench and the isolated full pack, all seventeen Ponder lessons, resource reload, paid-pane recovery and a real disk reopen of twelve complete building examples. I inspected the revised scenes at two native capture sizes. The earlier failed interaction run and the first caption attempt remain separate evidence.

The installed release remains 0.12.0 while the larger development session continues. Next comes a dedicated server with two actual clients, so one player can make an edit and the other can independently observe it. That will add evidence the integrated test world cannot provide on its own.
